Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters is an anime about collectable cards that are used for playing games, telling the adventures of Yugi Moto, who constructed the three "God Cards", and then solved the Millennium Puzzle. Together with his friends Joey Wheeler, Tristan Taylor, Téa Gardner and later Mai Valentine, he constantly finds himself in situations where he must either duel others for cards or use them to compete against other people. The show takes place predominantly in Domino City. This blog will be a review of every episode of Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters. I will give a short synopsis of each episode and provide some personal thoughts on it. The reason why I'm doing this is because I've seen all 224 episodes and I've decided that there isn't really any other way for me to talk about them. There's no actual date as to when each episode originally aired, so I'm just going to say the first episode aired on April 18, 2001 and the last on September 29, 2006. This blog will also be available on my website: http://www.kingdomofloathing.com/yu-gi-oh/ The final sentence in this paragraph is a bit unnecessary and too long and wordy. "I've decided that there isn't really any other way for me to talk about them." I know what you're saying, just say it. Also, I'm not familiar with the 2004 series or anything that happened after 2006. "All of this is true, Yugi" is an example of something that was said through the entire series whenever Yugi had doubts about what was going on. It's a bit wordy and unnecessary. Just say "Yugi was always certain of his abilities." Episode One: The Heart of the Cards A boy named Yugi Moto solves the Millennium Puzzle, something he has been trying to do since he received it on his tenth birthday. Right after solving it, Yugi is faced with a series of challenges laid down by the spirit of an ancient Pharaoh. However, Yugi must shoulder the burdens placed on him in order to save his Grandfather's soul and carry out his final wish: bring Joey into Duel Monsters. Ok, I'm going to be honest here and say that this was a bit confusing to me. When they started talking about Grandpa and Joey, I had absolutely no idea who they were talking about until the end when you said "Joey Wheeler." Maybe you could make it more clear by saying something like "he had been trying to solve the Millennium Puzzle since he received it on his tenth birthday. Grandpa had given it to him on that day. However, even with the present of the Millennium Puzzle his tenth birthday wasn't like any other." That would make it a bit clearer and there's probably a way to do that and still keep the wordiness. I want to point this out, because I'm sure that you don't know about it and I was very surprised when I saw it. In this episode, Yugi actually has 2 panties in his Deck. These cards are: Those 2 cards are actually references to Yu-Gi-Oh!? The Abridged Series which you should definitely check out if you haven't already seen it. cfa1e77820
